She had been battling cancer. As you can imagine our hearts are heavy for our co-worker and his sons. I do know from talking with him over the years that both he and his wife share the hope of eternal life through Jesus Christ. So though I grieve, because a co-worker (a brother-in-Christ) is grieving, I know he does not grieve without hope.
I am praying that God’s grace will surround them. His comfort will hold them during this time of saying their earthly good-byes. To those on the outside of knowing God’s promise and gift of salvation, seem to always stand amazed at the hope we have as Christians. And what a hope it is! It does not disappoint.
It is not a hope of wishful thinking, but of a confident expectation. I know. I know that what He has promised He is faithful and true to all His promises.
The salvation of the righteous is from the LORD;
he is their stronghold in the time of trouble.
The LORD helps them and delivers them;
he delivers them from the wicked and saves them,
because they take refuge in him. ~Psalm 37:39-40
